Powell Families, Welcome to
another promising year at Powell GT Magnet Elementary!
My name is Christina Creech and I am honored to be serving
as your 2010-2011 PTA President. Last year as a
PTA we were able to accomplish so much! We
brought to our children the Artists in Residence Program.
The PTA created & organized the yearbook as well as
Fall & Spring portrait sessions. We
held a Fall and Spring Book Fair, 3 Fantastic Families Pancake
Breakfasts, and our First Annual Community Day. As
a
PTA, we sponsored Teacher and Staff appreciation events such as the
annual Welcome Back Breakfast, Holiday Luncheon, Teacher Appreciation
Week, and the End of Year Luncheon. We
also held our first Free Clothing Exchange, which we plan to do again
in the fall and spring this school year. Your 2010-2011
Board of Directors (myself as President, Stephanie Ford as Vice
President, JesSanne Johnson as Secretary, and Dawn Thompson as
Treasurer) have had a busy summer preparing for this school year. We are looking forwarding to accomplishing
even more than we have in the past. We
need your help to do so! We plan to bring
back Family Bingo Nights and have Powell Spirit Night once a month in
addition to Report Card Rewards Nights. We
will be starting a Walking Club as well as assisting with the outdoor
theater Mr. Miller has been working hard on over the summer. We need a few
good volunteers to take on the following duties: ·

We also need
committee members for our Dad’s Committee (courtyard/outdoor theater
project) as well as our Community Exchange (Free Clothing Exchange, Ride Exchange, Parent workshops) Please contact

any other volunteer opportunities. You can
